What is the difference between an original and a print?

An original is the painted work itself: one object, made once, signed, and not reproduced at the same size or surface. A print is an archival pigment reproduction on cotton rag paper, made from the artist’s own file. Both come from this studio; only one is unique.

What size print should I buy?

Measure the wall, not the room. As a rule, a single work looks right at roughly half to two-thirds the width of the furniture below it. When in doubt, go one size up — the most common regret is a print that is too small for its wall.

Are prints numbered?

Limited editions are numbered and stated as limited, with the run size on the certificate. Open editions are described as open. The studio never presents an open edition as limited.

Do prints arrive framed?

Prints ship unframed unless a framing option is offered on the product page. Unframed shipping is safer over long distances and lets you match the frame to your room.

How does custom silver work?

You choose a form, then a place on the map. The real terrain of that place becomes the relief of the piece, and you can add an engraving on the reverse. Each piece is then cast to order — see the configurator for the current forms and sizes.

Can I order a piece for a place that matters to me?

That is exactly what the configurator is for. Any point on earth with elevation data can be used — a summit, a coastline, the valley you grew up in.

How long until my order arrives?

Prints and garments are produced to order, usually within a few working days, plus delivery. Custom silver is cast individually and takes longer; the studio confirms a date when you order.

Is my payment secure?

Card payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach this site’s servers.

Can I commission a painting?

Yes. Write with the size, the room it is for and any subject you have in mind. You will get an honest answer about whether the commission suits the work.
