Nobody Looks Up Here

Everyone on this street walks with their eyes on the pavement, on the scooters, on the café that opens late. Above them the lamp has held the same pose for longer than anyone remembers: one arm out, crown polished, glass a little cloudy. It comes on before it is needed and nobody thanks it. The balconies lean in close enough to pass the salt across. The sky is simply the colour that fits between them. Once a decade somebody looks up and thinks they have discovered it.

The canvas

• Printed with fade-resistant inks on poly-cotton canvas, 344 g/m²
• Hand-stretched over solid wood bars, 3.18 cm (1.25″) deep
• Gallery wrap: the sides continue the picture as a mirror of its edges, so nothing on the front is lost around the frame
• Arrives ready to hang, mounting brackets included
• Vertical 2:3, in four sizes from 30 × 46 cm (12 × 18″) to 61 × 91 cm (24 × 36″)
• Unframed, or in a floating pine frame — black, brown or white — in 30 × 46, 51 × 76 and 61 × 91 cm
