The beach is wide enough today for exactly two: one person at the edge of the water and one gull above them, keeping a professional distance. The tide has drawn long lines in the sand like somebody practising handwriting. The dunes hold a few stubborn tufts of green. Nobody speaks, which is the whole point of coming here this late.
The canvas

- Hand-stretched over solid wood bars, 3.18 cm (1.25″) deep
- Gallery wrap: the sides continue the picture as a mirror of its edges, so nothing on the front is lost around the frame
